Rob LawtonRobert J. Lawton, Jr.

Rob was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a lifelong resident of St. Paul, and currently lives in the city with his wife Lindsay and his son Grady.

Rob has been practicing law since 2004, and has assisted hundreds of clients with estate planning and related matters. His clients have ranged from individuals with very little wealth needing basic wills and planning, to real estate investors and business owners with multi-million dollar estates. He offers free consultations and flat fees. He is licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Rob attended college at the University of St. Thomas, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Economics in 2001. He graduated with honors from Hamline University School of Law in 2004, where he was an Editor for the Law Review, a tutor to first-year law students, and taught a course in legal research as a Teaching Assistant. He currently volunteers as an Academic Mentor to law students at Hamline.

Rob has been active in the legal community in his practice areas. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and its Probate and Trust and Elder Law Sections, the Ramsey County Bar Association, the Wisconsin State Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He presented at the Minnesota Continuing Legal Education (Minnesota CLE) Basic Will and Trust Drafting seminars in 2010 and 2011. He was a contributing author to the 2010 Minnesota CLE Deskbook on Estate Planning for Non-Traditional Families. He has also presented at other educational seminars, including a 2011 Ramsey County Bar Association seminar on the Basics of Estate Planning and Probate Law. He has been a frequent volunteer for Wills for Heroes, which provides pro bono estate planning for police officers, firefighters and other first responders throughout the state.
